Ilitch and his wife, Ria, own and operate Spirit Care Homes in Minnetonka, Minnesota, an 8-bed residential assisted living home built on heart, culture, and quality care. After attending the Live 3-Day Training in 2020, Ilitch successfully opened his own RAL home and now helps guide new students through the process.

Outside of RAL, Dr. Diaz-Gutierrez is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Minnesota with over 20 years in healthcare. Born and raised in Mexico City, his strong cultural values around family and service fuel his passion for senior care. He also serves as a community educator with the Alzheimer’s Association, supporting families and caregivers across the Midwest.
